ISSUES:

• Jobs and Economy:  Rudy will create new jobs by supporting the district's local businesses. He will partner with growing green industries to invest in job training and certification programs. He will invest in rebuilding the district’s infrastructure to create new jobs. He will invest in proven gang intervention and violence reduction programs including CeaseFire and Safety Networks. • Education: Rudy will improve local schools by fighting for the district’s fair share of federal and state funds to reduce class sizes, support teachers, improve bilingual education, and expand after-school programs. • Health Care Access:  Access to affordable quality health care is a fundamental human right. I have been a strong supporter of expanding and improving health care access. As a community organizer, I have seen residents of the district suffer from inadequate medical resources and supports. • Immigration:  Immigrant rights are human rights. I have been a vocal leader for immigrant rights. I have marched with millions in Illinois, and advocated Congressmen in Washington D.C. I believe that as a country, and as a state, we must advance humane policy and provide pathways to citizenship to bring immigrants—their families and communities— out of the shadows.
