About

An emergency room doctor in Bloomington IL, David Gill is a vigorous advocate for Single-Payer (Medicare for All), economic justice, an early opponent of the Iraq war, and a strong and consistent advocate for labor and women's reproductive rights. He refuses money from large corporate donors.

Dr. Gill can Win!  When he ran in 2010, the district was heavily Republican. It joined the national right-wing electoral wave that swept dozens of Tea Party members into Congress.  But the new 13th district has been redrawn to lean Democratic.  Recently, the Macon county Democratic Party (Decatur) voted unanimously to support Dr. Gill.

Bio:  Born into a family of modest means, I assumed personal responsibility at an early age. When I was 13, I took a job as a bus boy and dishwasher shortly after my father passed away. I worked my way through college and medical school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Since 1988, I have served both rural and urban communities across Central Illinois, first as a family practice doctor and then in emergency departments.
