The Sheyman for Congress campaign in IL-10 N. E. Illinois) received a big boost from two important labor unions. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Illinois Council 31 and the Lake County Federation of Teachers have endorsed the campaign to turn Ilinois’ 10th District blue!
This is a big deal--AFSCME Council 31 is one of Illinois’ largest public employees unions, with 100,000 active and retired members, and the Lake County Federation of Teachers is the largest active union in the 10th district representing over 6,000 teachers and education paraprofessionals.
These endorsements help confirm Ilya Sheyman's position as the candidate who will represent the working people and middle class of the 10th district.
"I’m proud to have earned these endorsements" Sheyman said, "and to have the full force of the labor movement behind our campaign! Together we’re building an unstoppable campaign to send a bold progressive voice for middle class families to Congress."
Sheyman and four other candidates are running in the Democratic primary election to be held on March 20. A recent poll shows Sheyman leading the pack.
